About the Project
The Pāhala Wastewater Collection System Improvements Phases 1 & 2 are part of a comprehensive initiative by the County of Hawai‘i to replace outdated large capacity cesspools (LCCs) in the Pāhala community with a modern wastewater infrastructure. This effort aligns with federal mandates and aims to enhance environmental protection and public health. The project encompasses the following key components:Sewer Infrastructure: Installation of new sewer mains and manholes within County rights-of-way and easements.Service Connections: Construction of sewer laterals and cleanouts to connect existing dwellings to the new collection system.Site Restoration: Repaving and restoration of areas affected by construction activities. The project will be divided into 6 phases (see below graphic).
